"As I sit quietly, doing nothing, Spring comes and grass grows of itself."

Ch'an Ling Chu Chi

What if it was OK to just sit around and do nothing? Would the world stop? What if times for nothingness were actually something? What if the highest achievers were the ones who could sit and do nothing the longest and we could call them "Nature's harmonizers”? What if all of the people racing around here to there and everywhere and our individualist, performance based culture was actually considered unwell? What if the people who were able to sit around and do nothing where the well ones, the esteemed and revered? The ones who people aspire to be more like? I want to live in that world! To allow. To harmonize with nature. To trust in the mutuality of all things.

“In other words, the order of nature is not forced order; it is not the result of laws and commandments which beings are compelled to obey by external violence, for in the Taoist view, there really is no obdurately external world. My inside arises mutually with my outside, and though the two may differ, they cannot be separated. Thus everything‘s "own way" is the "own way" of the universe, of the Tao. Because of the mutual interdependence of all beings, they will harmonize if left alone, and not forced into conformity with some arbitrary, artificial and abstract notion of order, and this harmony will emerge of itself without external compulsion.” Ummmm yes Alan! (The Watercourse Way)

I’m tired of feeling guilt or having to be “sick” in order to justify just doing nothing. Let's lift it up! Exalt doing nothing.

I now have a term for it.

I am harmonizing.
